I was introduced to Erica and Robert by the amazing wedding planner, Solmaz Burke of Pretty Occasions in San Francisco. Erica & Robert were planning a September wedding at one of my favorite SF wedding venues, The Bently Reserve. I was very excited to be chosen to photograph their big day!
The couple really wanted to have a metropolitan feel to their wedding as well as their engagement. I suggested that we have the engagement session downtown and make use of the beautiful architecture of the Embarcadero Center and they enthusiastically agreed.
When we met in front of Embarcadero Four I had the wonderful surprise to see that they had just adopted a crazy-cute french bulldog puppy on their way to meet me that afternoon! He didn’t even have a name yet but he was full of personality and kind of ran the show that day. Can you believe how beautiful this puppy is?
In my regular style, we wandered around the Embarcadero in search of great spots to shoot. We were gifted with beautiful light everywhere and had a fantastic time. The Embarcaderos have really cool walkways that spiral up through multiple levels. The next few images were taken on that walkway.
Of course, we had to jump on a San Francisco cable car at the bottom of California Street. What could be more San Francisco than this 🙂
I LOVE to photograph in the city with my super wide 14-24mm lens! I’m able to capture the towering buildings that make downtown San Francisco so cool. This lens also makes people look really tall and thin when used correctly. People seem to like that for some reason.
I had been wanting to do this show below for some time. Erica and Robert were down for it so I set it up and we braved the cold air just long enough to get this awesome shot of Erica and Robert frozen in time while the city zips by all around them.
I’d like to thank Erica & Robert for being such fun people to photograph. I’d also like to thank Solmaz for introducing me to this wonderful couple.
The wedding is just around the corner. More photos to come…
