Weddings at The Inn at Occidental, or in this case a 50th anniversary renewal of vows, are a very sweet and charming affair. Sonoma wedding photographer, Jim Vetter Photography was there last weekend to capture the joy of the day.
50 years ago, on June 17th, 1962, Roberta and Phil took their vows and began a wonderful partnership that would reward the world in ways they had yet to foresee.
The ceremony was not a typical wedding ceremony. It was steeped in nostalgia with moving presentations and performances by family and friends.
The grandchildren were all participants in the ceremony and could not have been cuter. In fact, there were 17 children at the celebration and one was cuter than the next. It was a joy to photograph such a sweet gathering.
The reception was held at the Union Hotel Ballroom just around the corner from the Inn. The Union Hotel is a family owned business in operation since 1879 and has a rich history.
The kids had the time of their lives dancing and running amok.
It was really very moving to see two people madly in love after 50 years. Congratulations, Roberta and Phil!
I do remember, and that marriage ceremony was only one of countless pioneering things that you have done over the past 50 years. Delightful to see this, but I’d like more pictures!
Love, Patty
