Marriage proposals are so much fun to photograph. I get to hide out or pose as a tourist so I can capture candid images of the magical moment. I just photographed Matt’s proposal to Michelle at the beautiful Chateau Saint Jean in Kenwood, California – in the heart of wine country.

Matt made an elaborate plan for a trip to St Jean to go wine tasting. He had arranged for a private patio to be staged with flower petals – and a photographer – that’s me!

I was hiding in the shadows so I could photograph the whole thing. Michelle started doing the cutest happy dance when she realized what was happening.

Needless to say, she said YES! And she LOVES the ring 🙂

Chateau St Jean is really a beautiful property so we strolled around and photographed the freshly engaged couple all over the winery.
